Announcing Parasoleil's 2006 News

My background is as an artist, creating custom architectural installations for clients as well as my own series of artwork. Most of the material for these pieces have revolved around steel for it structural support and copper for its longevity and warm patinas. In doing this, I designed a new kind of architectural shade and privacy screening that has received some critical acclaim since the product’s unveiling in Feb. 2006. This is the reason for writing you. Thank you for your time and enjoy reading about this new advance in architectural building design.

Uriah Bueller, artist/owner

PARASOLEIL – What is it?

Since it’s a new artistic building material, it’s a bit hard to explain because it doesn’t altogether fit into any existing genre of art or functional material. They are 3x8 ft. panels of copper with patterns cut out them. Early applications had these panels used either for overhead shade mounted directly to a wood pergola frame structure or a privacy screen between spaces. Together with the unique shadows they produce, Parasoleil has interested architects, landscapers, and designers. So far, they have spread quickly throughout Colorado, Phoenix, and Los Angeles.

COPPER – Why copper?

Copper ages beautifully and will nearly outlast the structure onto which it is mounted. It is recyclable and will never rust or have to be maintained from sun damage. Being .021” thick, it is thin enough to be flexible and easily produced and installed to any application, but strong enough to withstand the Colorado snow and heavy winds.
