Tower Elevator Lobby

How do you get the look of copper without paying out the nose for the real thing? This project presented a unique challenge in emulating an aged copper panel finish on an aluminum substrate. Each panel has a different hue, a different way of aging - unique and particular - just like the real thing.

Approach

Cladding an entire interior lobby core and climbing up the building for each major elevator lobby, these panels tie to the region's history of rich copper production. The pattern, Mariposa, is subtle and approachable which is very necessary for interaction at such a close scale.
